The red dots on this map show the center of distribution of non-violent, nonwarring cultures. Some cultures, such as Hutterites, are actually distributed widely but receive only one dot. In the southwest U. S. there are several of these nonviolent cultures, most notably the Hopi. In northern Europe the most familiar cultures to many American are the Norwegians and the Lapplanders (Saami). Download a larger, printer-friendly pdf version.
